Bodh Gaya: The birth place of Buddhism which is regarded as the most sacred tourist spot.
Bodh Gaya is a Buddhist pilgrim site next to the Mahabodhi Temple
Complex in the Gaya district of the Indian state of Bihar. It is one of
the most sacred tourist spots of the world. It is at Bodh Gaya that
Siddhartha; the Sakya Prince of Kapilavastu attained Supreme Knowledge
and became enlightened to become the great Gautam Buddha. Bodh Gaya is
the birth place of Buddhism and later it spread out far off places
across India and even outside its borders. The ambience of the place is
very serene and is worth visiting.
